Anthony is the Director of Social and Demographic Statistics directorate of the Ghana Statistical Service. He is currently a 3year Ph.D. student in the Department of Social and Behaviour Science of the School of Public Health University of Ghana Legon. Anthony had his first degree in Economics and Statistics and a second degree in Population Studies all at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Anthony started working with the Ghana Statistical Service in June 1992 as an Assistant Statistician responsible for Internal Trade Statistics. In 1993, he was transferred to the Upper East Region as the Regional Statistician where he coordinated the 2000 Population and Housing Census for the Upper East Region. In 2001 he was further transferred to be the Volta region as the Regional Statistician. In 2007 he joined the 2010 Population and Housing Census Implementation Team at the National Office.
Anthony is a Demographer, with practical experience in Sampling designs and development of Standard Survey Methodologies in both quantitative and qualitative methods. In the past 26 years, Anthony had mostly been working on data collection, analysis and dissemination. He has a great passion for producing quality statistic especially ensuring that data is representative enough of the target population and the statistics produced hence is reliable for policy.
