Faustina Frempong-Ainguah holds a PhD in Social Statistics from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom and an MPhil in Population Studies, University of Ghana. Modules of Official Statistics, UNSAIP, Chiba, Japan. She is a senior lecturer at the Regional Institute for Population Studies, University of Ghana, where she directed Field Survey and Research activities at the Institute, served as the Course Coordinator and Advisor for the Masters’ Degree programme in Population Studies. She has taught courses on Basic Population Analysis, Population Estimation and Projection, Introduction to Statistical and Computing Techniques, Advanced Quantitative Analysis and serves as a facilitator on short training courses for other institutions and organisations. She was part of the consulting team that trained Anglo-phone West African countries (The Gambia, Ghana and Sierra Leone and Liberia) in the computation of National Transfer Account for their individual countries to harness the Demographic Dividend.
She is a member of International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP), International Association of Survey Statisticians (IASS), Population Association of America (PAA), Union of African Population Studies (UAPS), and formerly a member fi the following professional bodies: - British Society for Population Scientist (BSPS [2011-2014]), International Federation of University Women (IFUW) 2011 – 2013; Population Association of Ghana, [2006 – 2010], and The Population Health University Strategic Research Group of Southampton.
Her areas of specialization include survey methodology, data management and analyses, Population trajectories and population health, Demographic Dividend, Health-related quality of Life, Health policies, Reproduction studies, Maternal and child health issues, household, and family wellbeing.
