A team from the GSS visited the UK as part of its partnership with Flowminder, a UK-based organisation which is expert in Data science. The six people from the GSS, with support from Vodafone Foundation and Vodafone Ghana, spent a week getting first-hand experience with programming language Python and analysis tool, FlowKit.
The team were Victor Owusu, David Maxwell Bessah, Ernest Enyan, Jibril Fuseini, Samuel Adotevi and Kwamena Leo Arkafra – all staff of GSS. The trip helped with their aspiration to be data scientists to help the GSS to manage, compute and analysis BIG DATA. The engagement is a long-term project which will help develop our case to shape the policy direction of the country in the area of health, internal movement and risk management. Read more...
