Adansi South District’s population in 2021 was 85,200, with more females 42,648 (50.1%) than males 42,552 (49.9%). The District occupies a land size of 770.9 KM2 with a population density of 111 persons per square kilometre. The District shares boundaries with Adansi Asokwa to the North, Birim South District in the Eastern Region to the East, Assin North District in the Central Region to the South, and Akrofuom District to the West. Administratively, it has 4 zonal councils and 1 urban council, made up of 30 elected Assembly Members and 13 Government Appointees. Akan (64.4%) is the main ethnic group in the District, followed by Ewe (25.4%), Ga-Dangme (4.5%), Mole-Dagbani (2.4%), with the remaining ethnic groups (Mande, Grusi, Mande, Guan and Other Tribes) constituting 3.3 percent.
