Globally, there are an estimated 240 million children with different types of disabilities (UNICEF, 2021). These children like any other child, have ambitions and dreams for a better future. To achieve these ambitions and dreams, access to adequate and qualityeducation cannot be overemphasized. Yet, children with difficulties in performing activities are often overlooked in policymaking, limiting their access to education and their ability to participate in social, economic, and political life. Worldwide, these children are among the most likely to be out of school. They face barriers to education stemming from discrimination, stigma, and the failure of decision-makers to incorporate appropriate disability services in school. Download full report
